Foundation Drainage Correction

Scope of Work

Dug up the failed foundation drain around a 40-year-old rural home. Replaced it with modern 4-inch perforated drainage pipe wrapped in a filter sleeve and surrounded by clean stone, then added a new sloped outlet line that carries the water away from the house and releases it safely downhill.

The Challenge

The original foundation drain was clay pipe, mostly crushed and plugged with silt. Water was getting into the basement in several places, and there was no outlet line at all — the old system simply soaked into the ground beside the house.

The Outcome

Dry basement through two spring melts since install. Homeowner reports the sump pump — previously running constantly — now runs only during exceptional rain events.
